Chios Music Festival is a multi-purpose festival which was inaugurated in the summer of 2017 in the island of Chios by two artists from Chios who currently live and work in Berlin, Germany. Given the socio-political conditions prevailing in Chios, an island that has always been a bridge of intercultural dialogue, the festival deliberately emerged at this time as a way to show respect, gratitude, but also to send a message to the residents of the island and its visitors of joy and optimism. The festival’s main aim is to be established as an institution, a point of reference for the island, that will not only attract visitors but will also benefit in practice the local community.

The Tinos World Music Festival was founded in 2013 by the Cultural Foundation of Tinos, aiming to include the island of Tinos in a broader intercultural network and to become the meeting point for significant musicians from the Balkans and the East Mediterranean. It has hosted over 100 internationally acclaimed musicians from Greece and abroad, and boosted the emergence of great musician’s collaborations that continue their course in the international world music scene. The festival’s artistic direction bears the signature of Martha Mavroidi.
